#8 · PAR 4 · STOKE 5
Hole 8, the final challenge on this configuration of the course. Halfway awaits you on the other side of tunnel, but first you’ll have to find the fairway on this par 4.
Tee Box
Trees run down the left, barely concealing the boundary fence. With their tall branches sneaking into your view from the elevated tee box, a draw is definitely the required shape to find the dogleg left fairway. You won’t be surprised to learn that a solid straight drive or a fade will bring the Sluit and more of those perfectly positioned trees into play on the right. Once again, a sensible iron from the box will give you 180+ to the green.
Approach
The good news is that your approach only has to navigate one bunker, guarding the front left side. The bad news is that every other side of the green demands a chip from rough or from fringe with a nasty reverse grain. If you are unlucky, you’ll be presented with a physical manifestation of our magnificent emblem: a lone Willow between the 8th green and the 1st tee-box will turn anything that lands nearby into a 5-iron punch onto a raised green.
Bunker
With a green camber from left to right, there is a bunker waiting short left of the green ready to catch anyone straying left.
Water Hazard
Perhaps the most formidable and striking feature of Parkview is the waterway that runs the length of the entire course. The sluit runs the entire right side of the hole, so watch out on that side.
