HOLE 2 · PAR FOUR · STOKE 3
If the first hole was a welcoming intro to Parkview, the second is a challenging Par 4 that demands precision and nerve. With a stroke index of 3, this hole presents a proper test for even low handicap players. If you’ve chosen to play from the championship tees, you’ll be faced with 428 meters, while the red tees offer a more manageable 311 meters.
Tee Box Yardage
Regardless of your chosen tee box, a narrow fairway awaits you. The margin for error is very small. To your left lies out-of-bounds. To your right, the sluit snakes its way alongside the fairway. But that’s not all, find the fairway and you’ll most likely have the ball below your feet, testing the commitment of players who favor a fade.
Approach
You’ll notice that the green has no bunkers, the only hole with no sand at Parkview. Don’t be fooled, to the right of the green is a gentle swale that makes any chip a serious short game test. To the left looks more generous, but you’ll be landing the ball on a downhill slope. The best bet, as with so many holes at PV, is to ignore the pin position and play for the middle. A two putt par here is a good result.
Bunkerless Hole
The hole on Parkview not have a bunk, but not to worry with a false front and swale on both left and right, middle of the green is a must.
Water Hazard
Perhaps the most formidable and striking feature of Parkview is the waterway that runs the length of the entire course. The sluit runs the entire right side of the hole, so watch out on that side.
